W.I. FEDERATION EXECUTIVE MEETS
At a meeting of the executive committee of the Eastern Bay of Plenty Federation of Women’s Institutes at Whakatane last week, Mrs Armstrong presided over a good attendance of members and voluntary organisers.
The agenda . for the forthcoming Dominion Council meeting at Wellington was discussed, and the Dominion Councillor, Mrs CaverhilJ was instructed how to vote on the remits. Notice was received of a Drama School to be held by Mrs Judith Terry at Edgecumbe on February 1(3 and 17.
Members were advised that early bookings should be made for the Group travel trips, a North Island tour planned from April 23, and a fortnight’s trip in the South Island as from May 9. It was agreed that the Federation should make a donation to a gift fund for Mrs Barnicoat, past Dominion president.
Remits for the annual council meeting were brought forward and the competitions arranged for the agenda. It was decided that the points prize should be abolished and all competitions should be open to individual members. ' ■
