Miss B. Kenny, who has been holidaying with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr and Mrs R. Kenny, Ohope, leaves with her two neices for Thames tomorrow. Mrs Chambers and sons, of Epsom, Auckland, have returned home from a three weeks holiday as guests of Mr and Mrs E. P. Wylde, Waimana. Mr E. W. Morrison, exchange operator at Whakatane for many years, has been transferred on promotion to the position of supervisor, telephone exchange, Waihi*. He expects to take up his new appointment at the end of this month. Misses Monica Boynton and Betty Wardlaw, Waimana, are spending a month’s holiday as guests of Mr and Mrs Dick Boynton, of Lauder, Central Otago. They flew from Wellington to Christchurch last Friday. Very Rev. J. G. Laughton, C.M.G, the Whakatane Rotary Club’s onlv honorary member, was welcomed on Tuesday evening, the first occasion of his attendance as a member, by President Harry Warren on behalf of Rotarians.
