Well-Known N.Z. Singer Now On A Visit To Whakatane

A New Zealand singer wellknown throughout the world, Madame Winnie Fraser, formerly of New Plymouth, is at present paying a short visit to Whakatane in the course of a motor tour of the North Island. Madame Fraser has sung before many members of the Royal Families of Europe and is a particularly well-known singer over the 8.8. C. She has sung in many countries, including Austria. Once, just before the war, while in Vienna she was asked by Adolf Hitler if she would sing for him. She consented. The song she chose was “Land of Hope and Glory.” i Madame Fraser is being accompanied on her tour by Mrs T. Reid, New Plymouth.
