Wool For Shoes Now

Shoes of gay wool plaid combined with suede are proving a great success in the stores throughout Great Britain, says a fashion note received from London by the N.Z. Wool Board. With the popularity of wool tartan for skirts, jackets, dresses, topcoats—and even suits—are completing me lady’s ensemble with matching shoes. The designs are either sling-back, peep-toe models for formal occasions, or a wedge-heeled ' shoe for more practical wear. Five well-known Scottish tartans are used at present-—the plaids of the clans of Macßeth, Buchanan and McKenzie and the Royal tartans of Victoria and Margaret Rose. These colourful wool fabrics are teamed with suede in the masic colours of navy blue, nigge'r brown, black, wine and sage green, which tone with almost any other shade.
