Man Injured When Truck Overturns

When a light motor truck skidded on loose metal on the paper mills road on Saturday and overturned, one of the two occupants, Mr J. Maxwell, Whakatane, suffered injuries to the head, necessitating his removal to the hospital. The truck, driven by Mr M. Umuhuri, Whakatane, was travelling in the direction of Whakatane late in the afternoon when it skidded out of control before turning over. The vehicle suffered some damage. This morning the hospital reported that Mr Maxwell was progressing satisfactorily.
