Rare Bird For English Museum
A mounted specimen of the rare ribbon-tail bird-of-paradise, the existence of which only became known nine years ago, has been.presented to the Natural History Museum at South Kensington by' Captain N. B. Blood.
This bird-of-paradise is found only in the wilds of Central New Guinea. It is a beautiful bird, black, with an irridescent head and neck, and extremely long tail feathers—those of the specimen at the museum are 39 inches long.
