CHILDREN’S PARADE

Sir, —I was v*ry disappointed when.l read the report on the children’s fancy dress parade on Thursday, December 23. I don’t know if this part is a joke on the reporter’s part: The report reads thus: If there had been a piper in front —. Well, Sir, the procession was headed by two young pipers of the local pipe band and they were led by little drum major Gordon Robb from start, to finish. The junior pipers were Piper Graham Bell and Piper Donald Robb. I wish to state these boys are entitled to the credit they deserve, as they have only appeared in publjc three times and they are very disappointed in being left out. They were a credit to that procession, and all the public said so. 1 hope you will be kind enough to make this matter right. I know you can word this better than me. If you want to confirm this matter Mr Chapman will give you full particulars. Yours etc., Mrs D. ROBB. Certainly, gie the lads credit by a’ mecfeis. Our reporter does not play the kind of joke that would intentionally hurt anyone’s feelings. Details on which the report was based were kindly supplied by a Carnival Committee official, whose good intentions are beyond question and who confirmed their accuracy before publication. He no doubt regrets the omission as much as we do. Thanks for calling our attention to it. Editor.
