First Woman J.P.

The first woman to be made a Justice of the Peace in the Bay of Plenty sat on the Bench in the Whakatane Police Court on Friday. She was Mrs D. C. Petty.

The court extended a welcome to Mrs Petty and congratulated her on the honour of being the first woman Justice of the Peace in the Bay of Plenty.
