Appeal Made To Post All Mail Earlier In The Day
An appeal for the public and business firms at Whakatane to post their mail more early during the day has been made by the postmaster, Mr S. W. Hills. Mr Hills said that early posting will get letters away more quickly and save the post offite an immense amount of extra work. Many, firms now get someone in the office to post the mail on their way home at 5 o’clock. The post office staff are supposed to finish work at 5.10 P.m., but before they go all, mail must be sorted and ready for despatch in the morning. As a result, they quite often do not finish work until fairly late at night. “If everybody made a practice of posting their mail as early as possible during the day, it would make our job easier,” Mr Hills added. The closing time for mail from \yhakatane each day is 7 a.m. and at noon. Send Telegrams Early Thinking of sending any seasons greetings telegrams this week?
