Power Hit The Floor
20th Century Fox pulled the rug out from under 'Tyrone Power—literally.' The script required Power to slip on a throw rug and take a Spill for a scene in “The Luck of the Irish.” Director Henry Koscer wasn’t certain Power could do a good job by himself. So he secretly asked the property man to stand out of sight of the camera and give the rug a sharp tug when Power stepped on it. Power hit the floor so hard that the vibration upset a vase on a table. He was the most surprised actor of the week
Query of the Month: “Who will play Edward in ‘Edward My Son’?” Answer: “No one!” Although Edward" (the son of Spencer Tracy arid Deborah Kerr in the screenplay) is the pivot point of the drama, he himself never appears in person.
