Intermediate Championship: The final rounds of the Intermediate Championship were played on Saturday, a feature of the semifinal being the splendid bowling of .the veteran bowler E. J. (Harry) Bell, against last year’s winner M. Merito. In this game, with Merito playing as a t\yo-lifer and Bell with one life, the steadiness of Bell’s consistant drawing was’too much for Merito who conceded the round to Bell at the eighteenth end, with the, score 20—8. In the final game both being now one-lifers, Merito found better* form. With Bell tiring after a long strenuous day against far younger players Merito gradually forged ahead and for the second year in succession won the Cockerell Cup.
