Mr W. R. Boon was re-elected chairman of the Whakatane Harbour Board at the annual meeting on Friday.
Lieutenant Commander Keay, Royal New Zealand Navy, has been paying a short visit to Whakatane, during which time he has been staying at Ohope Beach.
Mr Raymond Boord, who will be well remembered in this district as Mr W. Sullivan’s opponent at the last general election, is now assistant secretary to Mr A. J. McDonald, national, secretary of the Labour Party, and attached to the Party’s headquarters at Wellington.
