All roads led to the Taneatua School on Wednesday when the annual field day organised by the Rangitaiki Plains Calf Club Association, was held there. Schools from as far away as Manawahe were represented in calf‘and indoor sections. There were very large entries in the calf sections and the indoor sections were really wonderful both in the number of entries and the quality of the work displayed.

At the conclusion of judging Mr Adams, of Thornton, chairman of the Rangitaiki Plains Calf Club Association, addressed the large gathering. He congratulated the winners of the various classes and thanked everyone who had assisted to make the day the tremendous success it was. He then called upon Mr Bell, of the Auckland Education Board, to speak. Mr Bell expressed his pleasure at being present and mentioned the important part dairying and all pertaining to it played in
New Zealand. He thought that field days provided great encouragement to children to care for and tend their animals. Mr Bell then presented the special awards won during the day. Luncheon and afternoon tea was served to the judges and other officials by Mrs Hayward and Mrs Bennett.
