TANEATUA W.I. SHOW
Exhibits Show Effects Of Wet Weather
A beautiful’ day favoured the Taneatua Women’s Institute Flower and Home Industries Show. Consistent wet weather experienced recently had affected the number of entries in the cut flower and decorative sections, but the flowers entered had been effectively arranged and looked very attractive. Entries in other sections were quite good, and there was a good attendance at the show.
The Doris Grey rose bowl and silver vase for most points in the show was won by Mrs Hayward. The W.D.F.F. Cup (presented by Mrs Hilda Hill) for the runner-up was won by Mrs Bennett and Mrs F. Matchitt, equal. The Goodhew Trophy for most points in cooking and home industries, won by Mrs Hayward. The special prize for most points in the children’s section was won by Pauline Davis, with Dawn Mitchell as runner-up. Champion bloom of the show was a beautiful delphinium exhibited by Miss Ward.
