Pigeons Fly Orders To Factory
After waiting six months for a telephone between its showrooms and factory, the English furniture firm of H. L. Morgan and Company has started its own communication system—7o carrier pigeons. . One of the firm’s polishers has a pigeon fancier friend whose loft is in Lewisham, London, near the factory. The pigeons are sent by train to the firm’s showrooms at Ipswich, Suffolk, and fly back to London, carrying orders to the factory. First courier was an ex-Army bird. It brooight back an order for a bedroom suite which was sent to a Suffolk customer next day.
