Win For Otakiri Young Farmers In Dairy Cow Debate
A large audience .attended the Young Farmers’ Club debate between Otakiri and Awakeri, held in the Otakiri hall on Wednesday night.
The subject discussed was of a very controversial nature. “That the Jersey is a better dairy cow than the Friesian.”
The strong arguments put forward by the Otakiri team, who had the negative, were more convincing than Awakeri’s, taking the affirmative. They gained 309 points out of a possible 400, defeating Awakeri with 278 points. The teams were: Otakiri, G. Murray, J. Irving, S. McLean. Awakeri, J. Barr, C. Haultain, D. Adams.
