Wasted Whale Meat
All Europe could be fed for six months on the whale meat wasted each year in the Antarctic, declared Dr. Hj R. Lillie, of the old whaling port of Dundee, Scotland, during a visit to Canada. “The number of whales that may be taken in one season is limited to 16,000,” be said. “At 26 tons of meat per whale, the full catch would give 416,000 tons of meat, or 936,000.0001 b.”
