CHANGE IN NAME

Rehabilitation ■ District Executive Committees, which under the authority of the Rehabilitation Board, have delegated powers in lending, are now to be known as District Loans Committees. A decision to make this change in name was made at the monthly meeting of the Rehabilitation Board.. The Director of Rehabilitation said he had recentlybeen approached by members of District Executive Committees, who considered that the title of the committee did not convey their true functions either to ex-servicemen or to the general public. District Loans Committees are located in Auckland, Napier, New Plymouth, Hamilton, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill. They are empowered to approve all normal rehabilitation loans. Where they do not approve a loan, the case is forwarded to' the Loans Committee of the Rehabilitation Board in Wellington for consideration.
