Radio Station Asks For Requests From Listeners

Readers interested in the radio will notice that as from today we are including only the Wellington, Auckland and Napier stations in the radio column. This is being done because these stations are received more satisfactorily in 'the Bay of Plenty. The frequencies have been included so there will be little difficulty in finding them. Recently a member of the staff of the Beacon was asked by the station manager of 2YD, Wellington, why few requests were received from the Bay of Plenty. 2YD holds a three hour request session every Saturday night from 7 o’clock, and the station manager has said that requests from Bay of Plenty listeners would be welcome. The station now operates on the dial where 2ZB used to be (1130 kilocycles).
