CHURCH v COMMUNISM

A special report issued by the Church of Scotland urges the immediate formation of groups within each congregation to implement Christian action to meet the menace of Communism. That seems one of the most constructive suggestions that has yet come out of all the recent discussion on Communism as a menace to the civilised world. All who sincerely believe in Christianity must believe that

their creed holds within itself the answer to the world’s social and political problems. And the best possible course of action for Christians faced with the Communist challenge would naturally seem to be to apply their Christianity to their politics. If that is what is meant in this' case by “Christian action to meet the menace,” then such a move cannot be commended too highly. It was high time someone thought of it.
