Frontiersmen Beat Juniors In Challenge Rifle Shoot
On Saturday the Junior Rifle Club challenged the Legion of Frontiersmen to a shoot, held on the Valley Road range. The weather was favourable’ and. both teams shot very well, the Legion beating the Juniors by only 6 points, Legion 178, Juniors 172. Taking the scores from this shoot into consideration a team was chosen to, represent Whakatane in. the North Island 'inter-Association championships, (postal shoot), Miss V. Hannah and Mr M. Brown representing the Juniors in the team. The Club pennant was won by Miss V. Hannah, who shot a possible, and Mr N. Judd again won the Howat Cup.
