Limit Number Of Entries For Labour Week-End Golf Tourney The annual tournament will open on Saturday with two qualifying rounds. Match play will continue on Sunday and Monday, with the finals on Monday afternoon. The limit number of entries (112) has been received and hotel accommodation in the town has been completely booked. Among the entrants are two scratch players T. Jones (Taumarunui), F. Buckler (Remuera), E. S. Toogood (2), the Poverty Bay champion, and several on the 3 and 4 mark. In fact, half the field will be on single figure handicaps. With the course in excellent condition and an improvement in the usual Labour week-end weather there should be some really good golf. Whakatane Women’s Golf: Draw For Today The Hidden Hole competition was won by Mrs McCowan. Today a flag match will be played but there wil be no match on Saturday on account of the tournament.
