Marked Pheasant
A pheasant killed - by a dog at Ohope the other day had on its leg a ring marked “Return Wild Life Serv., Govt Bldgs, Wgtn. Z 5006.” It seems these rings are put on certain birds released by Internal Affairs Department officers, with the idea of checking up on their travels after release. So that the system can be of real use, it is important that •any such rings be returned, either to the addresses they carry, or to the local ranger.
