A Civic Reception will be tendered His Excellency the Governor-Gen-eral and Lady Freyberg at Pohaturoa Rock, Whakatane, at 11.15 a.m. on Tuesday, October 19. A cordial invitation is extended to all residents of the Borough and district to attend this function. (In the event of inclement weather the function will be held in the Regent Theatre). To permit a full attendance I would ask the proprietors of business houses, shops, offices etc. wherever possible, to close their premises between the hours of 11 a.m. and 12 noon on October 19. B. No guarantee is given as to lengths, grade, condition or type of timber. Separate tenders are required for each lot, and cheque for price tendered for each lot, stating the lot number tendered for, must be included with each tender.
