At the bi-monthly meeting of the Bay of Plenty Presbytery, a welcome was extended to the Rev. A. D. Horwell, 8.A., Director of the Home Ministry of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand. Rev. H. Hogg was appointed In-terim-Moderator of Tauranga. A call to Rev. E. J. Melville, of Te Puke, from the Kaikoura charge was sustained by the Presbytery. Evans, Convener of the Life.and Works Committee, reported on the preliminary arrangements which have been made for the Evangelistic Mission which is to be held in July, 1949, throughout the Presbytery. Presbytery also agreed' to hold a Sunday School Teachers’ Conference on Saturday, November 20. Presbytery received appreciative reports from the various parishes which had received a visit from the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, the Right Rev. J. D. Smith, B.A. Both he and Mrs Smith made a worthy and effective contribution to the life of the Church in the Bay of Plenty. Appreciation of the oustanding service of the Rev. P. J.
