Manawahe W.I.
The October meeting of the Manawahe Women’s Institute was held in the local hall last Thursday, with a good attendance of members. The remits for the forthcoming Council meeting were dealt with, and arrangements for the birthday next month are now well in hand. A well patronised sales table netted quite a sum which was donated to the Leper Fund. Competition winners:— Child’s machine made frock: Mrs Morice 1, Mrs Bowden 2. Best shrub: Mrs Appleby 1, Mrs King 2. • Best flower: Mrs Mikkelsen 1, Mrs Ansell 2. Afternoon tea brought a busy afternoon to a close.
