Uniformity Of Road Signs Sought

Over the years individual ingenuity and ideas of emphasis have produced a nicely varied crop of traffic signs, particularly so in road surface warnings, for which there has been no standard, as for posted signs. Some are very effective, but different meanings in different districts are not a help. Acting on a recommendation from the Road Safety Council, officers of the Transport Department have collated the best of these signs with standard surface markings in use here and overseas, and shortly this suggested bulletin will be circularised among local bodies, Automobile Associations and other interested bodies for their comments.
