Dog Registrations v So far this year 2,780 dogs have been registered in the Whakatane County, representing £696 12s in fees. Last month 362 dogs were registered. With 21 new heavy traffic licenses, the number of such vehicles now operating in the County is 309.
Druids’ Card Evening The second of a series of flag 500 card evenings organised by the Whakatane Druids’ Lodge, was held on Monday evening. There was again an excellent attendance of card enthusiasts. An enjoyable evening was brought to a close with the serving of a tasty home-made supper by lady members. Prize-winners were: Ladies, Mrs Mrs Bridger; men, Messrs R. Stewart and Pedersen. ' Booby prizes, Mesdames Loane, Worrall, Rivett and Mr J. D. Rivett.
