Mr A. E. Gibbons, Dominion Chairman of Red Cross, who visited Whakatane at the week-end, is also vice-president of the Joint Council of the Order of St John and the Red Cross Society. Mr A. J. Canning, President of the Whakatane St John Ambulance Association, invited Mr Gibbons and Miss House, Secretary of the Waikato Red Cross, to inspect the St John Hall. Mr Gibbons was very interested and expressed his admiration for the effort made and work performed in building the hall.
