Home Nursing In Hungary

Taking as a principle that every woman should not only be able to cook and sew but to give elementary care to the sick and carry out medical prescriptions, the Hungarian Red Cross has organised Hopie Nursing Courses lasting 15 days and given by professional nurses and nurses’ aides. There is an examination at the end of the course, and a certificate is awarded to successful candidates. The Hungarian Red Cross has extended this instruction to girls’ schools for pupils aged 14-16, where student nurses in their second year give simplified home nursing courses. For the present winter 30 courses of this type were planned. Those who have followed such instruction are persons galled upon to /play a role, in the.formation and management of ,local Red Cross branches.
