America is speeding quantity production of faster-than-sound combat planes, reports the authorities magazine “Aviation Week,” which says that .orders have been placed for 675 Fxß6’s powered by turbojets. .• * ■ ■’ ' The Fxß6 will carry bombs and machine guns and have an endurance of one hour at top speed, according to “Aviation Week,” which first revealed details of this plane last December. . The initial order was for 225 planes, but the Fxß6’s performance was so widely acclaimed, says the magazine, that another 450 have beeh ordered.
