Timber To Be Tested Five truckloads of timber have been sent from'Rotorua to Auckland for shipment to the United States. Specially crated to protect ’ their bark, the logs will be tested for their paper-making qualities. They were milled in tjie Kaingaroa State forest. Out Of Season Mr G! Jennings,. Unusual Job A former Wellington girl, Yvonne Zahara, has the job of looking after the Old Vic Company’s many wigs while they are in Australia. Yvonne, who is only 20, is, it is believed, the only trained technician of her kind in Australia. The wigs are not made of human hair, but are a combination of human, goat, and, yak hair. They are set with curling papers left in overnight.
School or College ? When does a school qualify to be called a college, or doesn’t the name make any difference, according to . mape any difference, according to the Auckland Education, Board. About the only qualification a school needs for its committee or board of management to for a change in name is that it is a school of postprimary status. Application for a change in name is made to the board, which forwards it to the Minister of Education, with whom the decision rests. In the board’s area there have been six colleges for some time—Northcote, Avondale, Matamata, Te Awamutu, Tauranga, and Northland—and the latest additional to the list is Otahuhu Technical High School, which now becomes Otahuhu College.
