Edgecumbe Lodge No. 55, U.A.0.D.: Fortnightly Meeting

At the usual fortnightly meeting •of the Edgecumbe Druids’ Lodge held in the Central Theatre, Edge- • cumbe, Arch Druid Bro. E. R. Lovegrove presided over a good attendance of officers, past officers and members. A most pleasing feature of the ■ evening was a visit from Sister G. M. Zinsli, Arch Druid of the Success of Ashburton Lodge, Canterbury, who is at present on holiday .and is visiting her parents in Whakatane, both of whom are prominent members of the Edgecumbe '. Lodge. Sister Zinsli was officially introduced by her father, Past Arch Bro. C. Zinsli, Master of Ceremonies, and was duly welcomed in accordance with her high 1 rank. In reply, Sister Zinsli thanked the 'Lodge for the welcome extended to her and conveyed fraternal greetings from her Lodge and .gave an dnterestihg outline of its activities. •Greetings were heartily reciprocated by the Arch Druid. One new member was initiated into the Order with ancient ceremonial by the Arch Druid and his ■officers. A report was submitted by the Social Committee in regard to the arrangements which were in hand :for the forthcoming dance to be iheld in the Awakeri Hall on Saturday, October 2. It is anticipated that this function will be'well patronised by dancing enthusiasts who will no doubt remember the successful functions previously organised at both Edgecumbe and Awakeri. After the completion of the Lodge business supper was served by the .Stewards and a very enjoyable social hour was spent before members • dispersed.
