Such Language!
“Against the Wind” which concerns the wartime activities of the Belgian Resistance movement was filmed mainly on the actual spots where the events took place. Some language difficulty, however, was encountered by the unit from the local inhabitants. In Brussels, a lady, oblivious to what was going on, insisted that, as she had paid her taxes, she was entitled to walk on the pavement. The assistant director, searching in his memory for the French equivalent of “Get up them stars!” backed the wrong horse, and the lady just fainted clean out!
