P.W.M.U. Garden Party At Edgecumbe
Members of the Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Union recently held a Garden Party at The Manse, jfcdgecumbe. In spite of rather doubtful weather the attendance was excellent, and everyone spent a happy time. 1 The grounds of The Manse were looking particularly nice, decked with a fine show of spring flowers, and beautifully kept lawns, and. were much admired by those present. Numerous “bring and buy” stalls did a brisk and ready trade. After'”tea, Rev J. H. Starnes, on behalf of the P.W.M.U., thanked those present for their attendance and general support. A Playette was then given by Robert Cunningham and John Hunter, followed by a duet by Howard Plank and Fred Stones. Both items were much appreciated. Flower competitions resulted:— Bowl for effect: Mrs W. G. Gow 1, Mrs N. McDonald 2. Egg cup of flowers: Mrs Nielson 1, Mrs Gow 2.
