Aluminium Houses
Aluminium houses are now mounted at Bristol at a speed of 20 per week. The houses consist of three rooms, kitchen and bathroom, and are transported by lorries to the building site in four parts. Each part is thoroughly completed before it leaves the factory. The kitchen and bathroom installations have also been affixed before the transportation. The four parts are mounted onJthe stone fundament and then by means of bolts joined together; for this purpose 158 holes are drilled. At the beginning this work: took about 4i days for four men. Now these 158 holes can be drilled by two men in two days.
