Kowhai Institute
At the monthly meeting of 'the Kowhai Women’s Institute in the Methodist Hall it was decided that the roll call for the next meeting on September 14 would be a gift of food, for a parcel to Britain. A musical. parcel competition caused much amusement, this being won by Miss V. Hannah. Winners of other competitions were:— >■ Knitted garment: Mrs Johnston 1, Mrs Ingle 2, Mrs Timbs 3. Apron: Miss Sutcliffe 1, Mrs Hills 2, Mrs Patterson 3. Games competition: Miss Fife. A dainty supper was served by the hostesses.
