Ahuwhenua Win League Championship Final At Ruatoki On Saturday
Ahuwhenua defeated Tumatanenga in the final of' this Rugby ' League - championship at Ruatoki on Saturday in the.best exhibition of the code seen there this year. Final score was Ahuwhenua, with a superior pack of forwards, were able to smother all movements by the clever Tumatanenga back line. The Bay halfback, Puke Teamo, was unahle to set his backs in working order, Jim Nuku, Syd Te Whetu and Hina Tamo, fast Ahuwhenua forwards who really played outstanding football, worried him from the commencement of the game to the end. Jacob Te Whetu and Pepe Hohua were the outstanding backs for Ahuwhenua. Raymond and Pat Hohua were the pick of the Tumatanenga side in the back line, William King and Ngahuru in the forwards.
