Conscience Money
A Gazette notice acknowledges the following amounts forwarded by persons unknown as conscience money to the Government: One pound each to the Army and Land and Income Tax Department; £6 to the Works Department; £1 5s and £2 to the Railways; £176 9s 4d, £4OO and £4 to the Treasury and twopence to the Post Office.
