' Mrs G. Drayson returned to Whakatane today after a brief visit to Hastings. Mrs J. Duthie left Whakatane for Palmerston North last week on an extended holiday. She is expected to return in a few weeks. Mr W. Sullivan, M.P. for Bay of Plenty has been selected as a member of the N.Z. delegation to the Empire Parliamentary Conference, in England in October. The delegation leaves N.Z. on August 18. A letter is to be sent to Mrs C. Tickner, of Thames, from the .Whakatane Harbour Board expressing its sympathy concerning the recent death of her husband, a former member of the Whakatane Harbour Board.
