GEO. TOLLERTON'S SHOW WAS TRULY AMUSING
Geo. Tollerton’s team of overseas vaudeville celebrities gave Whakatane theatre-goers a real treat on Saturday, when the Grand Theatre was well-filled with an appreciative audience. • "The entertainment was light, bright and truly amusing. Geo. Tollerton himself put on the star turn of the show, mystifying with his feats of magic, and getting many laughs with his breezy patter. Probably most popular with the children who attended the matinee was Royston’s Punch and Judy show. Royston’s ventriloquism showed him as an artist well above the average. Nellie Kolle’s impersonations made an instant hit, and the comedy gags of Lou Cottam and Olga Kay made certain there were no dull moments. Dancing, musical novelties and riotous sketches, together with the Crazy Quiz, set the seal on an entertainment that was truly bright.
