Legion Of Frontiersmen

At the recent annual conference of the Legion ..(held..this..„.y.ear at Palmerston North) the Whakatane Squadrop. was awarded the “Skilleter Statuette” for attaining the greatest percentage increase in strength during the past year. When presenting the Skilleter Statuette to Captain R. S. Whittaker, of Whakatane, the Commandant of the Legion, Colonel J. C. Findlater (Pioneer) extended the congratulations of all Frontiersmen. The conference was attended by 158 representatives from all over New Zealand. seven from "Whakatane making the trip. .•* The 1949 conference, will be held in Whakatane. , *■ 5
