League Of Mothers

At a recent meeting of the League of Mothers Mrs Metcalfe presided over an excellent attendance. Members were reminded that fats, soap and cheese were required for a food parcel at the next meeting, also clothing for Holland. Mrs Breward gave the thought for the month. Guest speaker was Dr Howie, of China, who gave an excellent lantern lecture assisted by Mr C. Graham on his work there as a missionary doctor. Mrs Gow thanked Dr Howie for his inspiring address, after which a sacred duet by Mesdames Te Hira Ferguson and Metcalfe was much enjoyed. Mrs Lysaght was the accompanist. Afternoon tea and the singing of the National Anthem brought the meeting to a close.
