Flesh And Blood Variety Show At Grand On Saturday
The advent to the district of a professional flesh and blood variety show direct from a capacity season in Auckland is bound to create unusual interest. At the Grand Theatre, Whakatane on Saturday. Geo. Toller ton is bringing his Real Variety Show supported by a full company of top ranking variety artists, many of whom are in New Zealand for the first time, with the very latest entertaining novelties, and all this goes to make up an evening of assured and delightful enjoyment. George Tollerton, magician, gave sufficient indication on his last visit of his ability to amaze and intrigue in a style which brought laughter all through his act. This time'he promises even better and more mystifying illusions and bricks. Of special appeal to children at the matinee is Royston’s Punch and Judy. This is an Australian professional act, ’ which has, for the last ten years been under Vice Regal patronage every Christmas. No one will dispute that this time honoured favourite ever loses its nostalgic appeal. The Crazy Quiz conducted during the performance is one which is' now taking Australia by storm, although it is quite different from Radio Quizes which have proved so popular. Added to this bill of fare is comedy, dancing, musical novelties and riotous sketches. Plans for the Real Variety Show are now open at Armstrong’s Bookshop.—P.B.A.
