Tuhoe-Bred Youngsters Do Well At Trentham
Local lovers of the thoroughbred who were present at the parade of yearlings held at the Tuhoe Stud, Waimana, in January will be interested to hear of the progress made by at least two of those on show that day. ; / At a very large parade of youngsters held on the second day of the Trentham meeting three divisions were run off. In the first division the Pictavia—Lone Flier colt now known as Birdman, was the winner. Bird man was a late foal and will not be two years old until November.- He was sold by Mrs D. M. Grey of Taneatua, to Mr-. J. N. Marshall, of Wellington. Pictagain by Pictavia • from Colleen Gain and owned by Mr Spiers gained third place in the third division, whilst the second division was won by Lady Lucina, a filly by the ' Tuhoe-owned sire Revelation from Lucullus Lass. First division: Mr J. N. Marshall’s Birdman Pictavia—Lone Fiier 1, MrJ. N. Marshall’s Barry Marble Faun —Biddy Machre 2, Mr R. J. Murphy’s Abotsford Tweed- ll—Cuddle 3. , Second divsion: Mr P. Roberts” Lady Lucina Revelation —Lucullus , Lass 1, Mr A. E. Priston’s His Lordship Lord Bobs—Subpoena 2, Mr T. R. George’s Gold Spi Gold Stand —Fox Spi 3. Third division: Messrs Meo’s Survivor Neptune—Prolyxo 1, Mrs L. W. Denbie’s Talent Eoxbridge— Starbeam 2, Mr M. Spbir’s Pictagain Pictavia —Colleen Gain 3. The hall and stage had been nicely decorated with Nikau palms and Accacia.
