Referees’ Hard Day
A lot of puffing and blowing ,was the main feature of the Referees v United Seniors Rugby match played at the Whakatane Domain on Sun- f day. The older players of the Ref-, erees’ team played a Readier game than United-, though defeated through lack of wind. Outstanding amongst the Referees’ backs was,. M. Corrigan' a former Wanganui half, and D. O. Stewart ex-member of the Old Boys’ Club. K. Hollis, in the forwards, still has a lot of dash. The referee on the day was outstanding for his encouraging remarks to the perspiring Referees. The day closed with a lot of medicinal attention for both teams, to whom “joint-oil” was frfeely administered. , ’ . - Galatea Club Rugby Results of- Saturday’s matches:— Ruatahuna 23 Kaingaroa 12, Galatea 6 Waiohau 6, Murupara 8 Wairapakao 8, Te i Whaiti 3 Minginui 3. .
