Take Good Profit At Social And Dance The Drama Circle entertained members of the Waimana-Nukuhou Women’s Institute at the July meeting held at Waimana recently with a play entitled “The Veiled Menace” and it was well received. The secretary announced also that the profits from the recent social and dance had been most gratifying, £l2 5s 5d being collected. The birthday celebrations are to be held in August and it was decided to invite other sister institutes. An interesting demonstration was given by Mrs F, J. Savage on the making of paper hats. Mrs Marra read a most entertaining item on Queen Mary, as the Golden Thread. The roll call was “A Cure for a Cold,” and was well responded to. Competition -results are:— Best double flower: Mrs H. Bell 1, Mrs Lex McDonald 2, Mrs > M.King" 3d* ' ■ •- - ; Best single flower: Mrs H. Bell 1, Mrs Hewitt 2, Mrs F. Bell 3. Best vegetable: Mrs Whiteman 1, Mrs Hewitt 2, Mrs F. Bell 3. Three onions: Mrs Hewitt 1, Mrs F. Bell 1, Mrs R. White 3. Half dozen heaviest eggs: Mrs Hewitt 1, Mrs C. N. White and Mrs A. Macdonald 2, equal.
