HOLIDAY TRIPS TO POLAR REGIONS
Had it not been for the war, holiday trips to Polar regions would by now have been commonplace, for more than one of the great shipping companies had planned special cruises. The Arctic sometimes belies its reputation. In the summer the heat is often over 100 degrees and primIfpses, daisies, bluebells and other ifl<>\ygrs grow well within the Arctic health-giving properties, 4#oo, are considerable. It has been claimed that Nowaja, Semjla, in the heart of the Polar Sea, is the world’s jbest health resort. Another surprising fact is that the snowfall at the Pole is less than it in the north of Scotland, though the climate in winter is more than man can stand under anything like iJbrmal conditions. ft is to be expected that tfips l Tboth by sea and air, will be inaugurated as soon as foreign holiday travel once more becomes feasible.
