PUBLIC NOTICES PONGAKAWA RABBIT BOARD Public notice is hereby given that the Pongakawa Rabbit Board pursuant to its powers under the Rabbit Nufsance Act, 1926 and the Rating Act, 1925 and their respective Amendments and of all other powrs enabling it in that behalf, intends at a special meeting to be held in the Public Hall, Paengaroa on Wednesday, 14th July, 1948 at 1.15 p.m. to make and lsvy for the year ended 31st March, 1949, the following differential rates on the basis of the acreage of all rateable property in the said district as appearing in the Valuation Roll for the time being in -force for the Pongakawa Rabbit District. ,

(a) In respect of the original area comprising the Pongakawa Rabbit District which area is more particularly described in the N.Z. Gazette No. 35 of April Ist, 1942 at page 943—a general rate of THREE AND THREE TENTHS PENCE (3 3/10 ths) per acre. (b) In respect of that portion of the Pongakawa Rabbit District as extended known as the Matata Riding, which area is more particularly described in the Minutes of the Board, dated Wednesday, 26th April, 1944—a general rate of THREE AND THREE TENTHS PENCE (3 3/10ths) per acre. (c) In respect of the following portions of the Pongakawa Rabbit District as extended and situated in the Rotorua County, the boundaries which are described below—a general rate of THREE AND THREE TENTHS PENCE (3 3/10ths) per acre.

(1) Commencing at a point on the Kaituna River where the Roto-rua-Tauranga main highway crosses the river, thence along the western side of the Kaituna River, the western shores of Lake Rotoiti, the Ohau Channel and the eastern shore of Lake Rotorua to the intersection with the boundary of the Whakapoupgakau Block and the Wharenui Block, thence along the said boundary to the boundary of the Opakau Te Pukatu Block, then in a north easterly direction along the 'boundary between the Whakapoungakau Block and Omania Te Hautapu ,Elocks, thence by a line due east to the north western corner of Lake Okataina,. then along the northern shore of the Lake to the Cleat ama Scenic Road and along that road to Lake Rotoiti and along the southern shore to the Ohau Channel.

(2) Commencing at a point on ihe eastern shore of Lake Rotoiti at its intersection with the boundary between Tautara Block and Haroharo Block, thence by the eastern shore of Lake Rotoiti to its intersection with the Block Line between Blocks 5 and 9 Rotoma Survey District and along the block line in an easterly direction to Lake Rotoehu, then along the western and southern shores of that Lake to the Waiiangi Hot Springs, then along the Manawahe Road to the north eastern corner of Lake Rotoma, then along the eastern shore of Lake Rotoma to its point of intersection with the Rotorua County boundary, then along that boundary to the boundary of Te Hiu-c-te-papa Block and then in a south westerly direction the northern boundary of Te Haehaenga Block in a westerly direction along the boundary of the said Te Haehaenga Block and Rotoma Block to the Haroharo Block and then in a north westerly direction along the boundary of the Haroh&ro Block, Rotoma Block, and Tautara Block to the point of commencement. (d) lit respect of the residue of the Pongakawa Rabbit District—a general rate of ONB AND ONE TENTH PENCE (1 l/10ths) per acre. The above rate is 'to be paid to A. H. Dukeson, Secretary, at his office in National Buildings, Tutanekai Street, Rotorua, in one instalment on 2nd August, 1948. A discount of 2£ per cettt Will lie allowed on such portion of the above general rate as is paid within 30 days of the date fixed for payment.

The Valuation Roll and Ratepayers’ List are open for inspection at the said office during office hours, until noon on -Friday, 30th July, 1948. A, H. DUKESON, 301 ' Secretary.
