Tramping Club’s Christmas Proposals: Two Tramps
Two trips for the Christmas holidays were mooted at the meeting of the Whakatane Tramping Club on Wednesday night. One, proposed by Mr K. Mayclair, was a trip down io" Wellington, across to the South Island and then some mountaineering in the Alps: An alternative suggestion was made by Mr Li Dahm, that the club go up to Rotorua, across, to Taupo', via the Desert Road to Napier, up the East Coast to Gisborne and home to Whakatane. ’ These proposals will be further discussed at the next meeting of the club. A trip up to Manawahe Hill, around Lake Rotorua, and back to Whakatane, to take two days, is planned for the coming week-end.
